The Bur Oak (Quercus Macrocarpa) grows to 75 feet tall and is characterized by its thick, corky bark and large acorns. This tree is known to be extremely tough and hardy and it is probably the easiest to grow of all oaks because it requires only a little extra water.
It has deeply lobed, deep green leaves that turn yellow in the fall. it also has the ability to tolerate poor soil.
